About This Course

Anxiety disorders are among the most prevalent psychiatric disorders in the United States. Exposure therapy for anxiety disorders has been shown through research to be the most effective and efficient way to treat anxiety disorders, yet many therapists have never received formal training in exposure therapy. In this workshop, Dr. Sandy Capaldi will discuss cognitive behavioral conceptualizations of anxiety disorders, emotional processing theory, and the specific applications of emotional processing theory to various anxiety disorders.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Discuss cognitive behavioral conceptualizations of anxiety disorders
  2. Describe emotional processing theory
  3. Label specific applications of emotional processing theory to various anxiety disorders
  4. Utilize basic CBT techniques (assessment, psychoeducation, exposure techniques, and homework assignments)

 

Intended Audience: 

Licensed Mental Health Professionals or those working under a licensed mental health professional who have training in and familiarity with trauma, PTSD and grief,

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

 

Credit Statements:

4.0 CE credit hours for Psychologists awarded.  BHTEN is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.  BHTEN maintains responsibility for this program and its content

 

Behavioral Health Training and Education Network BHTEN, #1779, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.
