This enhanced series includes an open enrollment at any time for the self paced certificate track. This virtual learning series will be a combination of asynchronous e-Learnings and pre-recorded webinars. This series is designed to provide Peer staff with an overview of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health as well as provide an overview of skills for Peer staff.  The series is also designed to ensure that Peer staff receive an equitable amount of therapeutic skills, resources, and knowledge.  In turn Peer staff will more confidently coordinate the services needed and wanted by those being assisted in the recovery process.

About This Course

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Identify ways to create a Person First inclusive environment for those in recovery.
  2. Understand the history and importance of Peer Culture in the Philadelphia Behavioral Health System.
  3. Engage in ethical discussions to help create a safe environment for those in the recovery process.
  4. Learn to identify common trauma responses and connect members to appropriate services.

Completion Requirements: 

This virtual learning series will be coordinated through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Assessment of learning will involve completion of all e-Learning courses and viewing of all recorded webinars for the desired amount of time. Completion of the series evaluation will grant access to the certificate of completion
