About This Course
Trauma is a significant public health concern and the need to address it is viewed as an important component of effective behavioral health service delivery (SAMSHA, 2014). This training will explore the foundational principles of trauma by defining, illustrating different types of trauma and explain the neurological process of trauma. The training will also offer solutions for a trauma informed approach which will includes the 6 Guiding principles to a trauma informed approach and how to support trauma informed workplace.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify what trauma is, its statistical prevalence and learn to recognize signs and symptoms.
- Identify the neurological implications of trauma, generational trauma and historic trauma integration
- Explore resilience factors and the utilization of empathy as a tool.
- Discuss strategies for implementing trauma informed practices.

All behavioral health providers.

Completion Requirements:
Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.
As an IACET Accredited Provider, BHTEN offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard. BHTEN is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program.
