About This Course
A combination of online advertising, the use of flavors in vaporized extracts, and low harm perception have contributed to a growing popularity in vaping. This presentation provides research data to help you draw your own conclusions as to whether or not to regard vaping as a safer alternative to combustible tobacco products and/or as an effective approach to stop smoking cigarettes. A description of current vaping devices, the impact of vaping nicotine and cannabis on youth and adults including the effects on physical and mental health is reviewed.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the current vaping devices on the market today.
- Cite the impact of vaping nicotine and cannabis on youth and adult physical and mental health.
- Share data on the safety and efficacy of using e-cigarettes to stop smoking.
- Demonstrate an understanding of community resources for prevention and treatment.
Intended Audience:
Individuals who are working toward or have secured the role of Certified Peer Specialist, Certified Recovery Specialist, Certified Family Recovery Specialist or Recovery Specialist Supervisor

Completion Requirements:
Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.
As an IACET Accredited Provider, BHTEN offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard. BHTEN is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program.
