About This Course
The training will give an overview of theories and strategies for CBT with neurodivergent youth. The training will focus on the most prevalent diagnoses of ADHD and Autism. The first half of the training will focus on ADHD, learning how to weave Executive Functioning skills into CBT interventions. The second half of the training will focus on co-occurring mental health issues for youth with ASD, and applying CBT interventions for management of these clinical presentations. Lastly, participants will be encouraged to practice the skills with case examples and experiential exercises to solidify skill mastery.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify common neurodevelopmental disorders
- Describe the Conceptualization of CBT treatment for ADHD and other neurodivergent issues
- Integrate Executive Functioning Skills in CBT treatment for ADHD
- Address co-occurring mental health for youth with ASD, using strategic CBT interventions such as emotion regulation and social skills training
- Apply the knowledge with clinical case examples and experiential learning to enhance skill mastery

Completion Requirements:
Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.
Credit Statements:
BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.
As an IACET Accredited Provider, BHTEN offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard. BHTEN is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program.
