About This Course

Problem gambling is a complex issue that affects individuals across all walks of life—but some populations are more vulnerable than others. This interactive webinar explores the latest evidence-based strategies for preventing problem gambling, with a specific focus on addressing the unique risk factors faced by different at-risk groups. Participants will learn how to recognize gambling-related harms, understand cultural and social determinants of risk, and apply tailored prevention strategies within their organizations and communities. Through real-world examples, group discussions, and practical tools, this training will prepare attendees to take a proactive and inclusive approach to problem gambling prevention.

  • Define gambling and problem gambling
  • Understand why certain populations are at higher risks.
  • Learn prevention and intervention strategies tailored to at-risk groups.
  • Explore resources for referral and support.

All behavioral health providers, especially those working with populations vulnerable to problem gambling.

Completion Requirements: 

Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive a certificate. All certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.
