About This Course
In the last few years our youth have reported increased mental health concerns and challenges, along with experiences of violence and suicidal ideation and behavior. The CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey drew attention to the record high levels of sadness, violence and suicide risk of our girls. LGBTQ+ teens in particular reported experiencing extremely high levels of violence. This workshop will address the issues impacting girls and their mental health: social media culture, sexual violence, stress and trauma, academic pressures and bullying and harassment. Strategies and resources to address the concerns of our girls will be explored.
Learning Objectives:
- Have an understanding of teen dating violence.
- Be able to identify both protective factors and identify risk factors.
- Identify how to assist youth in the developing healthy dating relationships.
- Recognize the importance of role models and mentors in the development of healthy relationships among youth.
Intended Audience:
Educators, school staff, and behavioral health provider agency staff.

Completion Requirements:
Participants must attend the entire session, participate in all activities, and submit an evaluation within the 7 days of training to receive credits and a certificate. All CEU certificates and certificates of attendance will be received through the DBHIDS Learning Hub. Once you have completed your evaluation you will have access to your CEU or Certificate of Attendance through your DBHIDS Learning Hub Account.

BHTEN is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.
As an IACET Accredited Provider, BHTEN offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard. BHTEN is authorized by IACET to offer CEUs for this program.
